This iconic Black & White image captured by Frank Worth of the debonair Clark Gable
Clark Gable & his wife Kay Spreckles-Gable at the 27th Annual Academy Awards in 1955. Crowned The King of Hollywood early in his career, Clark Gable's greatest triumph has to be as Rhett Butler in "Gone With the Wind" (1939). He was the idol of millions, the recipient of 40,000 fan letters a month. "The Misfits" (1961), was a final tribute to a superb actor. Gable died in 1960. Kay was his fifth wife and gave birth to his only son four months later.
